And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
Now play ball—or in Mamma Biscuit’s case, time for her to scour the grounds surrounding the BBQ grill in search for some food! Unlike most dogs, our little gremlin does not fear the sound of a brick of firecrackers going off in the distance or a texas whistler flying over head! No, she’s too busy lookin’ for food to even care or notice. OK, truth be told, she’s sort of deaf and not the sharpest tool in the shed but one thing’s for sure, Mamma Biscuit is super proud to be an American pooch! You see, only in America could a pug find rescue from a puppy mill and the opportunity to live out her golden years in the arms of two doting gay men! More importantly, only in America could a pug build a fabulous wardrobe that can rival anything that you can pull out of Nan Kempner’s closet—and find fame and adoration via the internet while wearing it all!
So Mamma Biscuit wants to wish you all a safe and fun 4th of July holiday. Be proud and thankful for having the simple right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness! Of course, Mamma’s pursuits are pretty simple—food, water, soft-chew treats and the right to nap whenever and wherever she pleases! Ain’t it great to American?
Red, white, blue’s in the skies,
Summer’s in the air and baby,
Heaven’s in your eyes.
I’m your National Anthem.
And finally, our Independence Day festivities would not be complete without including the new Lana Del Rey music video for National Anthem. Personally, I prefer Divine portraying Jackie Kennedy in the John Waters film, Eat Your
Make-Up (I can’t find that clip anywhere online) or Madonna as Marilyn Monroe at the Oscars but I can get on board with Lana and her perfectly sculpted beauty queen hair and modern take as Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe! So have a look at this long-form Tommy Hilfiger/Ralph Lauren ad set to Instagram—not only will you be glad you did, but somehow, you’ll feel more American!
Lana sure knows how to interpret the new America we live in with such lyrics as:
Money is the reason,
We exist.
Everybody knows it,
It’s a fact. Kiss, kiss.
YES, that’s excatly what you think it is, Lana and the Biscuits and an autograph with a sharpie on Tommy’s wrist! So here’s to America, Lana Del Rey and a six-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice!
Enjoy
