A portrait worth tiling

St. Nick along with Hanukkah Harry, Kwanzaa Kim and La Befana (the Italian witch who delivers gifts on the Epiphany Eve, January 5th) brought Mamma Biscuit and her two dads a wonderful gift this year! A portrait of Mamma on a white ceramic tile to adorn the Pug Palace. These holiday icons commissioned the wonderfully talented Nicki-Dee at the Inwood Animal Clinic to create this incredible object d’art and we love it so much we thought we would share it with the rest of the world. Nicki-Dee was able to capture the essence of our Lady of Biscuits with her artistic talent and her intricate oven-baking technique. Unfortunately, she has moved to Mexico but her work can be viewed at the Inwood Animal Clinic in Inwood, New York City. Portraits of every breed you can imagine adorn the trim of the walls around the many rooms in the small facility!

Those who are in Mamma’s inner circle know she has an intense obsession and love affair with Christmas. For Mamma, Christmas is an all-year-round affair and she is officially letting you all know that Christmas 2011 is only 300 days and 11 hours away . . . so start planning people!

Mamma at the antique market

Mamma Biscuit just returned from a brisk morning at the Antiques Garage in Chelsea, NYC. Her scavenger skills along with a knack for cut-throat bargaining landed her and her two dads four fantastic records; Christmas with Rosemary Clooney, Love and Kisses, Disney’s Chilling, Thrilling Sounds of the Haunted House, and Perry Como’s Golden Records. Four Dollars later, she found herself knee-deep in vintage Russian Christmas ornaments and mid-century American tinsel ornaments. She tongue-selected three of the best for a steal and trotted back to the Pug Palace just in time for a soft chew treat!

Calgon, take Mamma away

A soak in some suds is exactly what our Lady of Biscuits needs to wash away her winter blues. Going for her daily walks on these dirty Nuova York streets throughout this entire winter has proven to make Mamma a filthy gremlin—and no gentleman-canine-caller would ever be willing to drink her bath water. Rub-a-dub-dub a pug in the tub!

HomeGoods Feels Good

There is nothing Mamma Biscuit would rather do more on a rainy day than to head to HomeGoods for some retail therapy—except of course, if she had free range on an open box of homemade Sweet Semosh cookies followed by a six hour nap, but I digress.

Since her Daddy has been mastering a vegan coconut cake that would make anyone go cuckoo for coconut, Mamma has decided to surprise him with a gift. She has scoured the kitchen ceramic department for the perfect new cake stand to show her encouragement, appreciation and love—all while decked out in a D&G ensemble from their “Sicilian Nonna” label.

Mamma B’s new knits!

A girl can never have enough knits in her wardrobe (especially with the winter we’ve been having in New York City) so when Nana asked Mamma if she wanted a custom made sweater, she jumped on it…well, she jumped on her…for a soft-chew treat but you get my point. After several weeks and several recommendations on color and size, Mamma’s new sweater arrived in the mail! A warm and cozy knit of tan, light brown and soft marine blues paired with a Pineapple brooch with diamond accents conspire to make this one chic winter look! Who says cozy needs to look dumpy?
