Mamma calls shotgun!

Mamma Biscuit has a tendency to call shotgun before we’ve even locked the front door to the apartment—and when she does, she sure knows how to utilize the entire front seat real-estate to maximize her comfort level. Enclosed are a few photos of Mamma in the front seat of our car showcasing/falling asleep on her new pug print bag by Fuzzy Nation—a group of designers that make dog inspired messenger bags, image hand and coin bags, jewelry and full on plushy, doggie-formed bags! Their OMG Collection is practically ripe for a Harajuku girl in Tokyo with a major love for pugs! Check out their web site but be warned, that typeface they use is shockingly off point for dog products and more appropriate for a V.C. Andrews/Andrew Neiderman murder mystery book—the kind that are sold at the drug store on a metal-wire revolving rack alongside steamy romance novels!

Happy Saturday!

Back by popular demand, Anna Wintour!

It’s high time The Biscuits officially post Mamma Biscuit as Anna Wintour on her very own blog. Mamma made her first splash in the public digital world this past Halloween when our good friend Anna at Doorsixteen covered her big win for Best in Show and Best Homemade Costume at the Fort Tryon Park Halloween Dog Parade. You can see her original post here. Despite how out of season Halloween is, the Biscuit’s felt the need to officially post this legendary moment for Mamma—and we have included a few more photos for your viewing pleasure!

Tommy and I are the proud dads of 2010’s Best Homemade Costume and Best in Show awards at the Fort Tryon Park Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade and Costume Contest! Mamma Biscuit brought down the dog house with her take on Anna Wintour.

As Anna Wintour, Mamma has seen every hemline, knit and dress from Paris to Milan and beyond, and has her paw in every working designer’s studio, from Westwood and McQueen to Chanel and Galliano. She knows exactly what her canine followers are looking for and delivers it up in the most influential canine fashion magazine to ever grace a newsstand: Dogue!

Despite having a terrible hair day (note to Betsey Johnson), Mamma was decked out in Chanel with a Louis Vuitton handbag and carried the “Black and White” September issue of Dogue. An amused crowd quickly fell silent with Mamma’s critical yet high fashion stare, and were all left compelled to vote her the winner of the contest! As I carried Mamma up to receive her CFDA award…errr I mean, Best in Show award…I informed the crowd that like Anna Wintour, she too needs to be carried (note to Tim Gunn), although Mamma could work two pairs of Monolos better than Anna could ever work a simple sneaker!

Mamma Biscuit on Philippe Starck

Philippe Starck may have dared to mess with the King by reinventing the classic Louis XV armchair for Kartell with his playful ghost armchair but Mamma Biscuit is every bit of a Queen sitting on it and could give Marie Leszczynska—scratch that—any of the King’s mistresses a run for their money! That’s right, Mamma has finally gotten her paws on one of these translucent beauties during her visit to Boston this past weekend and she simply exudes royalty and sheer arrogance while perched upon it. In fact, our little Bitch of Biscuits demanded a soft sitting pillow for her delicate paws before posing for these portraits—which will inevitably be commissioned by the Masters to be painted and hung along the Hall of Mirrors in gigantic, gold-encrusted frames . . . and that will surely bring a huge influx of tourists to Versaille.

Mamma’s early Spring Christmas picks

We have just entered the season of Spring but that doesn’t mean that Mamma Biscuit and family don’t have Christmas on their minds! As we have stated many times before, Christmas is a serious affair at the Pug Palace and Mamma intends on keeping you all abreast with her new seasonal decor items and suggestions as the year unfolds.

We begin with Mamma’s love affair with mercury glass. Mercury glass (also known as silvered glass) contains neither mercury nor silver. It’s actually clear glass, mold-blown into double-walled shapes and coated on the inside with a silvering formula. This formula is inserted through a small hole that is then sealed with a plug. Mamma loves this silvered-glass look and has paw-selected two fine ornaments blown in this fantastic style—one in the shape of a polar bear and another in the shape of a penguin. The Biscuit family tree is adorned with many animal ornaments to express and honor their love of the animal kingdom and these two new editions will only enhance their collection. Mamma loves to mix this style with traditional eastern European and Russian hand blown ornaments on her white tree to showcase her eclectic taste.

Mamma’s second holiday pick is this vintage, four piece, wooden block centerpiece that spells out the word NOEL. These blocks are handcrafted and detailed with vintage brush tree toppers adorned with cluster ball ornaments! Mamma hasn’t found a specific spot for this holiday gem yet (real estate is slim in her home during the season) but she’ll cross that bridge when the time comes! The Biscuits just love to throw 50’s inspired Americana decor like this into the mix at home during the holidays!

Remember boys and girls, Christmas is only 276 days and 13 hours away—start planning, it will be here before you know it!

Puggie in a Snuggie

Mamma Biscuit is no stranger to QVC, Collections Etc. or the power of As Seen on TV products. After all, she’s exposed to so many Jeanne Bice/Quaker Factory segments and a plethora of infomercials within the blue of our TV screen light during the late hours of the night—while nursing her two dads with their annoying insomnia. With that said, here is our Lady of Biscuits draped in a dog Snuggie/canine straight jacket. Despite the near electrical-level of static that this fleece blend can create, Mamma happens to find it extremely cozy and is willing to step right into it whenever we pull it out!

Here are a few more photos of our little gremlin showcasing her Snuggie in pink while sitting in her maroon toile donut bed—it’s like Laura Ashley meets middle America—and we’re feeling it!

Enjoy this hysterical commercial for the Snuggie Dog. We love how complicated they make it seem to take your dog out for a walk in a simple dog sweater instead of a Snuggie—I guess life would be more convenient for me if I could wear my bathrobe whenever I leave the house!! And that talking dog tag—it’s a home invaders dream come true! Enjoy
