Seasons change!

Mamma Biscuit would like to officially wish everyone a very happy first day of Spring despite this dreadful weather we are having today of rain, sleet and snow! Yes, it’s that time of year again so let’s all help her usher in the new season of sunshine, warmer temperatures and longer days. Hopefully after today, we’ll be able to pack away our heavy coats, sweaters, gloves, hats and scarves for good because Mamma B. wants to take a long walk through Fort Tryon Park in the nude. There is nothing she enjoys more than working her gremlin nose into a frenzy by smelling all the beautiful scents of budding life that the park has to offer.

So go on, get out there as well—when the day is more Spring-like of course. But before you head outdoors, Mamma would like to pay homage to her Daddy’s Guido roots while simultaneously entertaining you with this appropriate song for the transition of seasons.

Mamma’s takin’ a road trip

Mamma Biscuit and family are heading on a road trip to Beantown today to visit Tova & friends. Actually, according to this photo, she may skip Beantown and take the Highway to Heaven in search of Michael Landon. Either way—before we pack into the Mammamobile for the ride, let’s make sure we have everything:

Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance dog food—check
Soft-chew treats in sweet potato and peanut butter—check
leash and harness—check
poopy bags (in pink, of course)—check
Lacoste carry bag—check
Nature’s Miracle Spray (sorry in advance Tova)—check
knitted sweater—check
cute, diamond brooch for knitted sweater—check

Looks like Mamma is ready to go. Since she has a heavy paw when driving, I’m sure we will make it to our destination in record time!

See you all later!

XOXO
The Biscuits

Oh Canada, a family portrait!

Mamma Biscuit would like to honor all of her friends and family up north in Canada by sharing these lovely photos of her visit to the great Niagara Falls last summer! The Biscuits were invited to a family wedding in Toronto (T. dot as they call it) and it was the first time we transported our little gremlin across country lines. We prepped our Lady of Biscuits for the maple leaf country by listening to the natives on CD in the car ride going up there—you know, Céline Dion, Niel Young, Joni Mitchell, Nelly Furtado, K. D. Lang—hell, if we had a TV in the car, we would have looped Family Ties and Baywatch in honor of Michael J. Fox and Pamela Anderson but our car doesn’t have such luxuries!

Mamma was a big hit the moment her paws hit the Canadian soil—her epic tongue practically whipped us up onto the observation deck of the CN Tower, bypassing those long, pesky lines. We enjoyed touring the Steam Whistle Brewery, the Hocky Hall of Fame, shopping for vintage clothing and records on Queen Street, St. Lawrence Market for antiques, The Flat Iron’s Christmas Market and touring the Aids Memorial site in Cawthra Square—the heart of gay town among many other sites and family functions.

The biggest highlight of this trip was having Mamma experience the grandness of the Niagara Falls—to see her bathe in the sun and mist from the rapid falls was just a pure joy to capture on camera.

These photos are a good way to prep the Biscuit family for our return to Toronto this upcoming August for yet another wedding!

Enjoy!

Fawn on Fawn

Here is Mamma Biscuit looking as sleepy and cozy as a cup of chamomile tea with a touch of honey—while wrapped in a fawn colored pashmina. When Mamma is this cozy, she starts to smell like a warm bag of corn chips—her features become perfectly smooshed and tucked in all the right places.

We didn’t mean to disturb the Biscuit Lady, especially after her fun-filled day out in Old Town Alexandria but the moment I took my camera out, she sprung up to form, thinking she was going to get a soft-chew treat. So after a few snapshots and caving in to giving her a treat, we lulled her back to sleep with the sweet lyrics to Little Star by Madonna!

Never forget who you are
Little star
Shining brighter than all the stars in the sky
Never forget how to dream
Butterfly
Never forget where you come from
From love

Pug or mushroom?

The Biscuits have always celebrated the ever changing face of Mamma B and we strive to capture and document her as best as we can. Pugs in general have such unique, physical characteristics and facial expressions but nothing could prepare us for Mamma and her epic tongue. With that said, here is our Lady of Biscuits sprawled out in complete relaxation and abandon—just waiting to be adored. I’ve always admired Mamma’s elegant, black lips paired with a tongue that looks like a cold cut but at this moment, her mouth transcended “canine” and morphed into what looks like one beautifully large shiitake mushroom!
