Mamma for Marc Jacobs

Let’s face it people, Mamma Biscuit is in high demand. The Biscuit household receives numerous phone calls daily with requests from designers from all around the world seeking Mamma as their next muse. Everyone from Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, Sonia Rykiel, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Dior, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs—the list is endless. These designers are all looking to book our little gremlin for runway or print and I have to be honest, it’s hard fitting her into these requests while still respecting Mamma’s mandatory 22.5 hours of sleep a day—somehow though, we manage. On another note, don’t worry about our little bitch following in Linda Evangelista footsteps—she’ll get out of bed for a mere soft-chew treat let alone $10,000 so the designers who work with her are saving a whole lot on pay role!

With that said, it comes as no surprise that Marc Jacobs and his camp have requested Mamma Biscuit for their new print ad campaign. Marc is clearly looking for a fuller more stout model with four legs and a healthy tongue and Mamma is in high demand and on his radar. The backstory here is that Marc was very disappointed with the ad campaign he created a couple of years back with Victoria Beckham. Remember those photos of her robotic body spilling out of a shopping bag? Anyway, Marc wants to recreate the same concept but with a more appropriate muse and a handbag box instead of a giant shopping bag.

Here are a few photos from Mamma’s highly anticipated photo shoot. Yeah, I know, I have a problem with editing, so just deal with it! Our little gremlin is wearing accessories from the current Marc by Marc Jacobs Collection and the jumbo handbag box was furnished by Marc himself. Honestly, we are going to have a huge fire to burn out once Karl Laggerfeld gets a glimpse of these photos—she is not married to Chanel by any means however he can’t expect exclusivity from Mamma at the height of her career.

Our little girl is channeling the best box of couture chocolates on the planet in these photos. Go on, bite into these photos—they taste sooooooo GOOD!

La Isla Bonita!

Mamma Biscuit is having a vintage Madonna moment today and is longing to dance the Samba to a Spanish lullaby on the good island. Actually, she would rather just dance in circles to Madonna on the record player all day and night in the comfort of her Pug Palace but you all get my drift. Can you blame our Biscuit for wanting to be where the sun warms the sky? Where a pug loves her dads and her dads love their pug? We totally understand girl, although I’m not sure we understand that beauty mark on her snout—I guess photoshop works in mysterious ways. When it’s time for siesta you can watch Mamma walking by—with a beautiful snout and no cares in this world. Tropical the island breeze, all of nature, wild and free, this is where she longs to be—La Isla Bonita!

Bark in the Park!

Spring is officially here! The warmer weather and bright sunshine has really reminded me of how much our little Biscuit Lady loves the outdoors. It’s hard to fathom but when Mamma was rescued from the puppy mill, we were told that she had never been outdoors beforehand. Can any of you imagine never experiencing the fresh outdoors? The changing seasons? It’s frightening to think about but a total reality for most puppy mill dogs and Mamma was certainly no exception. She lived the first half of her life under florescent lights—forced to give birth to litter after litter of pug puppies for pet stores. She had never seen or felt grass, dirt, snow—all the natural outdoor elements that we simply take for granted. Mamma also had terrible atrophy of the legs from being in a cage for so long and her paws were described to look like fists from standing on the wire all day and night. After several months of rehabilitation and learning the basics of simply tolerating the sunlight, Mamma came to love the outdoors and today, it’s totally evident in her confident strut when she’s out and about on the streets of New York City or running on fresh lawns in the suburbs.

Here are some photos of our little gremlin enjoying a late summer afternoon in the park up in Highland, New York. Mamma’s ear-to-ear smile and Gene Simmons-length tongue really expresses the level of fun and excitement while sitting/melting on daddy’s lap on the swings as well as leaping and running through the grassy plains of the surrounding park area. Outdoor freedom feels good Mamma—relish in it—you deserve everything the world has to offer.

Happy Easter!

Mamma Biscuit wants to wish you and everyone around the world a very Happy Easter! Today is a special day when we all get together with family and friends to feast and celebrate the life of Mamma Biscuit while remembering the sacrificial part of her life in the puppy mill. For the first eight years of Mamma’s life, she had given this world a bounty of pugs without her very own natural freedoms and in the past two years, she has given us a bounty of endless love and a tongue that defies nature. We give thanks and praise to our precious creature—today and always!

Here is our Lady of Biscuits in all of her Easter glory—showing true grace and style as she hatches before our eyes. Yes, Lady Gaga, take note—this is how you really make an entrance via an egg—and without looking like a wet lasagna noodle/Klingon in nude latex and cheap prosthetic body enhancements from the local Halloween headquarters! Mamma is on the right track baby she was Born This Way.

Mamma: up close and personal

Here’s Mamma in our office, basking in the afternoon sunlight as it poured in through the windows last weekend. I just love when our little gremlin climbs all over my body to get closer to me. There’s something about her weight and those beefy ham hock paws on my leg that makes me giddy and happy as a clam! I love it even more when she presses her snout in my chest or in my armpit, sniffing, snorkeling, licking and making really wet gremlin sounds like a piglet. This happens often when we are sitting on the floor—at eye-level with her—when she begins this pacing-in-circles play and walking on top of our legs or feet.

Another thing you should know about Mamma is that every morning she has a routine of running around my gigantic, long body—climbing over my pillow, pawing on my face and my ankles with every crooked and clumsy revolution around my body. At first we thought it was because she had a specific need to pace in circles on my side of the bed but after running an experiment on her by switching spots with Tommy, we learned that it’s just ME she’s singling out—what did I do to deserve this honor? Maybe it’s payback for constantly taking photos of her—and if it is, then she’s one smart pug!

Happy Friday!
